A Quiet Afternoon Under the Cherry Blossoms
I don’t make it up to the Utah State Capitol every year for cherry blossom season, but when I do, I always wonder why I don’t go more often. It’s one of those rare spring moments where everything feels soft, light, and in bloom.
This time, I went with my mom. We took our time walking through the rows of blossoms—just talking, people-watching, and taking it all in. I brought my camera, hoping to catch a few of those perfect shots where the petals are floating midair or the light hits just right.
There’s something really calming about being surrounded by all that soft pink and white, with the Capitol in the background and petals scattered like confetti across the path. It felt like a slow afternoon in the best way—simple, peaceful, and just really beautiful.
I left with a full camera roll, a little sun on my face, and that happy kind of tired you get from doing something that feeds your soul, even if it’s small.
